Assisted the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department in restoring and dedicating the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.

Sponsored and arranged participation on Osaka's International Garden and Greenery Exposition with a San Francisco Bay Area garden designed by noted landscape architect.

Cooperated with City departments and agencies in such programs including:

• Planting cherry trees in Golden Gate Park
• Olympic Torch Relay
• Hosting the "Little Singers of Osaka" on their San Francisco visit.
• Sponsoring a San Francisco high school student to visit Osaka as part of the 20th anniversary of the Benihana Restaurant group.
