Silicon Valley Visit

As part of the visit to San Francisco, Mayor Isomura and the Osaka delegration requested a Silicon Valley Business Forum.

Responding to the delegation's requests, George Hara, Vice-Chair of the Association and Managing Partner of Defta Partners, coordinated a mini-forum at one location in San Jose. The group enjoyed four presentations developed to meet their specific learning objectives relating to institutions or facilities fostering new enterprises, including:
  • Cases that would suggest policies to promote entrepreneurs
  • Efforts to promote IT education at schools and in the community
  • Listening to the experience of leading entrepreneur(s)
    • Key to their success
    • Experience in creating new industries/businesses

10:40 AM - Presentation by Allen Wu, CEO of AccelerateMobile, a TEN graduate company.
Regarding the entire process -- concept to financial exit and the expectations, perceptions and role of a Japanese investor.

11:10 AM - Welcome and Presentation by George Hara, Managing Partner of DEFTA Partners
Regarding his experience as a venture capitalist in creating new industries/businesses and keys to his success

12:10 PM - Presentation by Levy Cohen, Founder and President of RightOrder Inc.
Regarding the company's experience as a start-up with new & innovative technology and its experience in creating strategic alliances in Japan.
