Dear Members and Friends of the Association:
It is hard to believe that there is only one more year until we celebrate the 60th anniversary of our very special relationship with the City of Osaka, Japan. Thank you all for your continued support of the San Francisco-Osaka Sister City Association. With new Mayor Yoshimura on board, we are looking forward, with your support, to an even more vital relationship with the City of Osaka, and people of Osaka.
This year°«s Annual General Meeting of members will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at 12 Noon in the Bayside Conference Room of San Francisco Port, Pier 1, The Embarcadero, San Francisco. We appreciate Michael Nerney of SF Port for making the arrangement. Please note that this is the time of year to renew your membership. We would appreciate it if you could submit your annual dues with the RSVP form.
A little update on our Student Ambassador Program. Program Chair Miho Armacost and her committee members have just completed the selection of two student ambassadors who will be going to Osaka this summer. We will share more information on the program during our meeting.
While we did not have official visitors from Osaka last year, we were delighted to welcome Mrs. Ban, one of the long-time host mothers to many of our student ambassadors. We appreciated the opportunity to thank her in person, along with several past student ambassadors who gathered to reunite with her.
We also continued to collaborate with other organizations and always look forward to supporting their events. Among others, we were excited to participate in the 110th Anniversary of Japan Town.
Looking forward to seeing you all on June 16th.
